If I had to guess, I'd say it's a parody. No straight man can do a serious video wearing a shirt like that!

A guy sings horrible songs like that, and he wears a pink shirt.
Careful guys this could be a spoof on "Mad TV'. I have been torn apart with Christian songs with nasty ideas only to find that they are from Mad TV and they are only parady's. Funny to some not to others (me).

This guy can't possibly be serious, and I have to believe he is making fun of people are serious about the subject matter.

I sing and play in my church band, but it doesn't mean that I no longer have sense of humor! Laughing

That has all the classic parody elements. Played a little too (sorry) straight, Tries to look serious to the point that it obviously isn't. He has a mustache part of the time, pink shirt, plays to stereotype, winkingly smartassed.

Seems like this actually is a real band, called "The Evening Service",- their website is http://www.eveningservice.com/ - and the same song and video is there, titled "The Bible Says".
There's even more here - http://www.donniedavies.com/ - this is the singer. Check his "Mission" and you'll see that the guy is a total homophobe who believe gays would benefit from going to jail....

How anyone can call themselves Christians and joyfully sing that "God hates" anybody is beyond me....

Steinar

Awful, hateful stuff. And terrible to boot. The only thing good about it is that it is so bad that it does come accross as parody. But as Steinar says, when you look at this guy's website it becomes evident that it's not meant to be. Self-parodying, perhaps, but not intentionally. Yuck. Gives me the creeps that I clicked on the Youtube thing with one of my kids in the room.

Does anyone else see this guy as more than just a little camp- the pink shirt, the gay bar moustache...
Perhaps he doth protest too much, to paraphrase Shakespeare.

Theologically, "God hates" is a self contradictory phrase anyway.
Cheers

I won't mention any names just to avoid the risk of going seriously off topic. But I have had the experience of thinking somebody was a parody only to find out later much to my shock and dismay that not only were they serious but that a very large number of other people were on board with them. People are a complete mystery to me.

I'm often seen as a parody of myself.

without getting into religion...a seemingly taboo thing on the forum....this is probably some joker from the rev. fred phelps camp.....I won't give the web addy as I refuse to drive web traffic there. Do a web search and you'll see what I mean. The Bible says God hates sin....not the sinner.

The video made me laugh out loud! It's obvious (to me at least) that this guy is gunning for a spot on the cast of SNL. Smile
