DUNLOPS Why did they change the band design?
I only have 2 pair left of the ones that have 2 holes that are NOT near the cuticle. They are much more comfortable.

I've never used Dunlop fingerpicks, but I can see where that would be irritating to the cuticles if the holes are rough on the inside.

I play with one of each. That way I can tell which fingers they go on. |

I know what you mean about the cuticles. I just got some and had the same problem. There was like a little wire edge on the inside of the hole. I filed it down with a jewlers file and they are very comfortable now. In fact I now like them better than the old ones. |

I have two pair of those picks, single holes and I agree they are more comfortable on the cuticles. Wish I could find some more. Don |

guys... use needle nose pliers and bend the edge closest to your nuckles out some. That will take care of the (ouch) torn and painful cuticles. Works like a charm. You don't have to bend them very much. |

Check out Pro Picks'. They are the most comfortable pick I have ever used. They come with two styles, a full band wrap like the Dunlops or Nationals (but more comfort cause they are pre bent) and a split wrap which is ultra comfortable. Also, you can get them angle bent. I always size a pair for new students at the 1st lesson. They are mucho appreciative.

The cadillac of finger picks, at present, are the "Perfect Touch" finger picks. I ordered a set and really liked them but they were a little to small. I sent Rusty an e-mail and he is exchanging them for the next size larger. They have a very unique design and the two picks differ in style.
If you want to take a look, the website is: www.perfecttouchpicks.com |

Erve, thanks for the tip on the picks, they just look comfortable to me. Do you know the sound difference on the brass ones if any? Don |

Don,
I am getting the ones with the curved pick area. My Dunlops had the rounded pick area and those are the kind I prefer.

Don,
I'm sure the brass ones would have a mellower sound. |

Someone take me to splain school, and splain to me what the differences are from the curved pick area and the rounded pick area. I have looked on the sight, but the pictures are not clear. When clicking on the pictures, all I get is an advertisement for tickets to some ball game |

Hey CAB,
You got a web address for those Pro Picks'?
Went on a general search, and came up with nothing but football bets and bettors.
Thanks. _________________ Chip

I've been trying to emulate Bobbe Seymour and not use finger picks. Just a blue thumb pick. Seems to be working well for me. I haven't ever used a lot of attack on the strings as I try to play. All that means is I haven't broke a 3d string in almost 2 years. (Knock on something wood) I don't seem to have a problem unless I break a fingernail. Then I have to stop and clip and file it.
When I was using picks, I loved my Nationals.
