Aloha from the Kailua/Kona. We have been here a month or so and we love it, Vog and all.

We have found music to be everywhere. We play with Brudda “Smitty on Sunday, up mauka in Waimea, (He sang with the Sons of Hawaii for 20 years), we sing on Monday and practice steel with KonaBob, we teach beginers on Tuesday with a group we started at the International Shopping Center, we sing on Wednesday in Honualoa at a kanikapila (sp) we started at the Ukulele gallery, we sing on Friday with Willie’s group (30 people)at Keahou shopping center before the Hula show. On Saturday we rest for Sunday.

In my travels, if anybody is interested I found a Peavey Session 500 amp, designed for the steel. 15’ Black Widow speaker, yikes, that’s a lot of steel speaker. A bargin at $ how much??? $349. Is that a good price? If anybody can’t live with out it, E me and I’ll turn you on to it.

I hope to see many of you at the next convention. Let’s vote for Waikiki every year.

Sounds like you're a seasoned visiter, Jack, deffinitely making the most of you're time in the islands. Lucky you missed the major rains we had, statewide.

Smitty is the real thing, I wish he'd hit Oahu more often.

You're gonna have a great time with all you mentioned and more, please let us know how it goes.

Enjoy!

Hey rick, sounds like you are getting ready for the big event. I wish Gerald Ross would stop by my house and play steel for me.

I looking forward to meeting up with Dennis Gonsalves. He is in Hilo, on the East side and we are in Kona on the west side. We where in Hilo briefly to pick up a Toyota Scion we had shipped over. It was raining so hard we didn't stick around. It's about a 2 hour drive to Hilo. Perhaps we can see him at the Merrie Monarach festival.

Hey Jack,
Tell Dennis hi from me too, I'll make sure I don't give him my uke tuned to D this time at Joliet. Is the big island getting the nonstop rain I've heard about? I can stay in Illinois for that...
