A friend student emailed me to-day as follows:

We've finally nailed the dates for our trip- we'll be on the Big Island
from February 13- March 3. Any thoughts/suggestions for people to hear
or lookup is most definitely welcome. We'll be bopping around the whole
island- some time in South Kona, then to Pahoa, then up to Waipio, down
to Volcano, and probably back to Kona for the last few days. Trying to
book and schedule it has been very tricky and time consuming as this is
the high season. But Lori is in severe need of some warm water and black
sand. Smile

I would like to ask my Hawaiian friends to post any info
here as to where the Bands with steel guitar may be
found during the above time frame so I can pass it on.
If you wish to email me.....
roythomson@eastlink.ca

Mike is a great enthusiast and a nice player so any
direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Roy

In Hawaii, it's best to call the hotel's concierge to confirm before heading over.

Changes always happens at the last minute, and many times entertainment news editors are never up to date with changes.

At least one of the old bars (name escapes me) on the main drag in Pahoa (hopefully still) has a great jam session every Sunday that starts around noon and goes for hours.
Probably no steel tho, so brings yours!
