Can you date my MSA, I just received the guitar on Friday. It's my first lacquer guitar. Serial number is 1C6873.

Jerry....1C6873 is a Vintage XL single 12 which left the factory with 8 & 4 finished in "red flame". It was originally shipped to Ralph Hanzel Music in West Allis Wisconsin. Sorry, but the born on date was not entered into record.

Your guitar is interesting in that all the guitars ordered by Ralph Hanzel were specified to be flame colors. He sold quite a few guitars, but in comparison to the many thousands produced, I would consider your guitar as being one of very few ever made with that color.
