Has anyone seen a list of PSG makers that might be attending the NAMM Show in Orange County CA next week? I was lucky to get some tickets and am looking forward to going for the first time.

Thanks, Terry Hickey

Carter is usually the only company there. I will be there with a number of lines I represent, but in regards to Steel Guitar it is slim. Peterson Tuners usually will be there as well as George L.

I'll be there, but I haven't heard anything about any steelers. It would be nice if Fender would do what they did when the "steelking" was introduced and have a whole bunch of players in a hotel suite jamming.

Theonly other steel-related (other than just strings) company that's always there is George-L.

NAMM is strictly intended as a show for manufacturers and distributors to show their wares to dealers, and most steel companies, being already backlogged, don't need to spend several grand to sign up dealers to sell products they'd not be able to supply.

IF NAMM ever wakes up and has at least one day for the general public (something that's been debated inside NAMM for years) you might see more steel companies there. But as long as they keep tightening the rules to keep the "riff-raff" (i.e. the players) out, there won't be participation by much of the steel industry.

The only players who go are ones that, as noted, are lucky enough to have a connection wih a company showing or who work for a dealer. There have always been ways for players to get in using other's badges (Tele ace Bob Warford went for several years posing as my son!) but now they even spot check ID's against badges, and no longer sell additional badges to members beyond a very strict limit. Hundreds of us (might be more than that...) who were artist endorsees for various companies got chopped off the list this year.

Posted only because someone inevitably asks "how do I buy tickets"? - and the answer is, you can't.
