A friend of mine is asking me if I know anything about a Melody King guitar. I've looked on the net, and except for one mentioned on a closed eBay auction, I don't have any data. I think someone must have mentioned it on the Forum, as I know I've heard the name. Can anybody tell me who made them, or any data please. Thanks folks. George

It might be a Bronson Melody King lap steel. Here's a previous discussion on the now closed No Peddlers section.

The Melody King is also known as the Bronson Model 52.
It's an early postwar Rickenbacher B6 made of brown Bakelite with gold hardware and bronze colored metal plates. Here's a link to Brad's Page of Steel. The photo is the Melody King and matching amp I used to own.
