I am trying to date my first Steel Guitar. It is a National Tricone that was purchased from the Maxwell Street Market in Chicago back in the late 1960's by my Father. Total cost was a whopping $25!!! The original owner put his name and address in pencil on the inside under the screen. His name was George Soukup and his band was the Halona Trio. He also added a metal plaque on the headstock that is engraved with his initials. I have replaced the cones as the originals had started to cave in. Here is the link to photographs. Serial number is 1742. http://new.photos.yahoo.com/53telecaster@sbcglobal.net/album/576460762383541599 |
