| What would be the minimum cabinet requirements for a 12' Nashville speaker. I want to reduce the amount of weight & space i carry with me to gigs . thanks |

Hey John I have a Evans Amp Darell Stephens made in 85 with a 12" B/W Speaker.
11 "Wide 20" Long 18" Tall, & sounds as good as the Evans with a 15" to me any way. Nice punchy little amp.
I feel like I have the real deal.
I know you were looking just for a speaker cabnet size measurement. Hope this helps. |

My friend, Don Sulesky, has some small enclosures he built for his 12" Peavey BW speakers. They are smaller than the cabinets I have, which are the same size as the Peavey Nashville 112E cabinets.
We had to "tune" the cabinets with the back panel, but we got very close to the sound of my speakers with the "Peavey" dimensions. |

| John, the minimum size for a guitar or steel speaker cabinet would be the smallest cabinet that can hold the 12" speaker, say 13" x 13" by 8". The bigger the cabinet, the better the low response will be. But, most speaker cabinet designs are much larger than that, because they are meant to efficiently reproduce the lowest sounds of bass guitars, string bass, and bass drums. Since regular guitar and steel don't play those low notes. You don't need a cabinet that big. Still, a cabinet somewhat bigger than the minimum will give a little better low end response. |
