"met HowardR and Bill Mcklouski from the Forum "
George, looks like you've made me Greek! My Scotch-Irish mother will be very unhappy. Oopa!

BTW, I'm sorry I missed your set: I snuck out to hear the Reece/Paul Franklin set on the main stage playing their superslides. There was just too much non-pedal stuff going on at the same time! You couldn't see it all.
I heard great things about your set though from Howard. |

Yes,...Khronos Mcklouski has a nice ring to it....
As I mentioned in the other thread, George is an animated and entertaining player. He sometimes narrates during his performance and sometimes has Hula like moves, especially with his hands.
I'm glad that the non pedal is taking it's rightful place. The comments I heard from pedal steelers during the course of the weekend was, "I didn't realize you could get all that without pedals." Many steel players at this show became much more interested in non pedal.
Now, I have a suggestion, and it's my opinion only with regard to public relations.
The "Not For Pedals Room" is a bit on the harsh side. It sounds less inviting and more like...stay out. Anytime you have a no, or a don't, or a not, is a negative in no uncertain terms.
The object of promoting non pedal is to entice and welcome everyone, not make it a private club.
The "Non Pedal Room" says,....hey, look what's going on here, come on in....
Again, my opinion based on being in the retail business for 30 years.[This message was edited by HowardR on 24 March 2006 at 09:16 AM.] |
