Bakelite Ric. The tone is like no other and the string spacing is right. |

I voted for National, as it's the only brand I've ever owned - and I've only owned one of those.
I played a frypan once, which was very cool, and had "that tone," but the National is the only one I've had any significant experience with. |

Bakelite Ric. There is something "right" about them. |

I had a tough time between the Fender trap and Rick B6.
Polls are fun, but unless you've actually owned all these guitars, you can't really make an informed vote. Valco and Stringmaster will probably win because more folks own them. |

I love Stringmasters, but I voted for Ricky bakelite mainly for the reasons that Dave mentioned - pickups, scale length and string spacing. My 35 moans and growls like nothing else. |

I love my Stringmaster, but I have 2 old Nationals that are hard to beat.Depends on what kind of music I'm trying to play.

Because we are limited to the list, I cast my vote for the Rickenbacker Frypan, but a lot of my heart leans to the Magnatone Lyric.

Rick Frypan. Lots of other great steels but I guess it's the voice I've chosen. I like it for its sustain (or lack thereof)...the way the notes decay. I like the simple look... plug the slab of metal into an amp and just play away. Also, slotted headstocks have always looked neat to me. And Billy Hew Len played one... He's king in my book. |

I LOVE my Stringmasters, and I dig the tone/vibe of my '38 Epiphone, but the frypan has it for what I like most. There's an harmonic complexity and old-fashioned tone that hooks me everytime.
