I just got a Fender stringmaster (?) S-8. How do I find out the date of manufacture?
Thanks,
Jim

You could luck out and find it under the tuning pan penciled in. If not, check the pot codes. On my D-6, the pups are hand dated. I'm not familiar with the pot codes, but someone is bound to follow my reply with the info. Good luck, Ron

My 1974 Deluxe 8 has a 1966, a 1972, and a 1974 pot all factory original! They used what was on hand.
