Ok, the song most requested of Buddy. I this is the instrumental that was the beginning of all steel guitar instrumentals.

Once again, let me know if you like it. Post responses here or send me emails. I love it.

Bill, Another " THANK YOU " for your efforts for all of us Forumites.
All of your work gives me the chance to see and hear, videos of shows and the Steel Players there, that a lot of us retired folks can not afford to travel to see. Also,I can not stray to far from my V.A. hospital in Prescott Arizona, anymore. Phillip.

Yes Charles,

I have several more cuts from this same show in 1980. As soon as I get home from Florida, I hope to have time to convert a couple more from tape to digital. Just allow me a little time.

Please, what is the history of this supremely schmaltzy lounge classic? Who wrote it, first recorded it, had the first or biggest hit with it, etc. (steel versions or other)? Just curious. I appreciate you posting this so I can finally hear the greatest pedal steeler on earth play it. But I would have to say it is my least favorite of all the songs I have heard Buddy play, and the last one of his solos I would want to try to learn. But that's just me. For those who like it, enjoy. And thanks for posting it.

David, I don't know who wrote this song, maybe Buddy will chime in. This was a great Ray Price hit.

It is probably also the most requested and played song at any steel guitar get together.

Great video.

1980 is also interesting considering the taken-for-granted presence of today's video cameras. Back in 1980 a portable camera probably was hauled around in what looked like a suit case !

Nice one from the archives there.

Gene Watson also had a killer cut on WTS. Same key. "E" with a whole new rendering. Steve, if u want the mp3 let me know.

Darrell did it, too, on an album by the same, with "E".
