Due to Fiscal Issues associated with Venue Liability ...

I have no choice but to cancel the public concert ... formerly known as The Shenandoah Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival ...

I do plan to host ... at my home ...

The Shenandoah Valley Hawaiian Steel Guitar Summit ... in its place.

All SGF and/or HSGA members are welcome ...

Sorry to hear the Fest is off Rick.

Wish I could make the Summit! That's going to be a blast I'm sure.

I believe we'll salvage the weekend. We'll need to cook a pig, though. Better start digging, Rick. Or better yet, howsa 'bout a boxspring hog?

Man, sorry to hear about the liability hassle Rick. It reminds me of Breckenridge Park in San Antonio TX, where I lived as a young boy. They used to have horse back riding and paddle boats and across the street a big amusement center. It's all gone because of insurance issues and the expense of it all. Here in San Diego you hear of people doing secret raves without the necessary paper work, which they can't get because of the liability issues and the high cost of insurance. I've been to a few great out door private parties in the sticks before. I think there more fun anyways cause you can really pick and party without Johnny Law breathing down your neck.

The world is run by lawyers.

There's an old Mexican curse that translates to "may your life be filled with lawyers".

Although this came out of left field ... yesterday ...

It is certainly 100% my error ... and I am going to make sure that whoever comes to the SVHSGS ... will be glad they did.

That is indeed ... Jerry Byrd ... recorded live at his 1985 Hoolaulea ... the 4th one (I think ???).

This is a medley ... Kimo Hula/Kolopa.

He does have the medley ... Kolopa/Ku'u Ipo ... as one of his Pro-Arrangments (C6/A7) ...

I'll play it late Sat. nite at the Summit ...

If he wrote an arrangment for Kimo Hula ... I ain't got it ...

How are your knuckles? (I have mental images of some walls receiving unfortunate fist punishment as your liability scenario unfolded). Sorry for your troubles but I expect that whatever you guys do pull off will be talked about for years.

Hmmm ... the Tom Petty approach ...

As far as "Plan B" goes ... I'll stand by my earlier statement:
