Anybody tried one of these? MF has had them in their catalog for some time. I'm assuming they don't have a soundwell. Maybe just an offshore cone on a ledge?
Curious if it's worth upgrading.
Thanks JO.

Save your money and buy a better one to start with. Even after you upgrade a cheapo you will still want a better one and you can't get your money back. A $250 reso plus $250 in upgrades won't sell for anywhere near $500. Been there, done that. My .02 Billy

Jerry, give me a call about a special deal on a Regal. 580-673-2474. Saga did a specal a couple of weeks ago. I can get you a good one for half price with a free case. I still have a couple.

Yeah, I know what you mean Billy. I guess you could buy a RD52 or Gold Tone Beard for somewhere around the money you state.

I have done this kind of work on cheapo resos with good results
sometimes though if the materials and construction are decent.

These are selling for cheaper than that and figuring $75 or so for a good cone, nut and bridge, I'd be looking at a total investment of little more than $250 on my time. I'm just thinking outloud anyway, maybe for a future project.

I hope to own a really good one someday, but it's not in the cards for a while.

It might sound and play OK as it is. That's why I am seeking input from anyone that owns one of these or has played one enough to get a good feel for it.

I appreciate your taking time to respond and thanks for the advice.
If I do it, and it's sour I'll give you the opportunity to say "I told you so!"

Gary, thanks for the info.

I would pass on the Rouge. The Regals aren't too bad and I would recomend the Goldtone/Beard over the Regal if you can
go the few more dollars. Either one is night and day above the Rouge.
Good luck. Dobro playing is a lot of fun!
