I've got a customer who is inquiring about preferred control settings on the Nashville 1000 with his lap steel. Can y'all help?

Mike, since it will depend greatly on which lap steel he has, I would start this way:

Set moderate volume, then set all controls on zero (or neutral) and increase in very small increments, until it pleases his taste.

I've found this to be a better way, than starting with all tone controls half way open, especially if they are active controls.

Rick's suggestion is excellent. There are too many differences in tone between various lap steels to make a blanket setting recommendation.
