Here's an amp that was built by Rob Hudson of Blues Pearl fame ...It's a very early TV Tweed Deluxe circuit , with an added on/off switch....This amp was checked out and modded by our own Ken Fox who added the on/off switch since the original design added too much hum to the circuit ...It's now much more quiet , and has tone to the bone !!!....The cabinet looks like Blackface in color, but believe me , this amp is rippin TWEED to the core !!.... If you're looking for an inexpensive way to get that vintage Tweed Deluxe tone, this is your baby !!...This amp sounds incredible for either guitar , or really sweet for lap steel ...Speaker is a Greenback and it really barks !!....$700 get's this amp shipped to your door in the lower 48 states..Sincerely, Jim

Hey Jim.
I bet your tubes will ventilate better and those who like to poke their finger in holes will be safer if you flip that rear baffle over.
Looks like a killer amp.

Brad ....
Uhhhh.....Duhhhhhh.....Hmmmmmm
LOL !!!!........
I think I should slow down a lttle bit ...Either that , or start playing more acoustic guitar huh ???..... .....Thanks for the heads up, or upside down ???.....Jim
PS...It is a rippin little amp no matter how the back get's screwed in !!....I'm going to sell a bunch of gear , and when I do , I will be buying one of your Revelations....I'm downsizing , and only keeping 3 or so preamps ....Your Revelation will be one of them ....Jim[This message was edited by James Quackenbush on 09 November 2006 at 03:44 PM.] |

It would be kinda cool to put clear plexi in those cutouts so you could see the guts and not get a jolt. |

A hot little amp like this might just melt that Plexi-- better get Pyrex! |

This is a faithful reproduction of the 5B3 chassis. A real tone monster!
Fender soon discovered that the on/off switch attached to the back of the tone control was a disaster, introducing awful 60 cycle hum into the audio! They corrected it on the 5C3, as I did on this amp. I found out about that after I discovered the problem and corrected it! Wish I has seen the following on the Fender Amp Field Guide first:
# Model 5B3 is the same as the 5A3 but in the wide panel cabinet.
# Model 5C3 has a separate On/Off toggle switch, external speaker jack under the chassis, glass tubes, and a negative feedback loop. |

Chris,
It's right around 15 watt's ....It's plenty loud enough for a small gig , and you can mic it for a larger gig ... It goes into a really nice overdrive grind when pushed ... It's a very tasty sounding Tweed ... Thanks for looking ...Sincerely,Jim |

I'm more familiar with the 5E3. What are the differences between the two, Ken or James? Looks like you can jumper the inputs like on a 5E3.

Bob,
Please lock it up ....There's not enough Tweed lovers in the audience....Too bad...This is one great sounding amp that can be used for lap steel , or just use it on stage with power amp distortion that cleans up by turning down the volume control on your guitar ...Great recording amp !!..... I really don't mind keeping this one !!...Thanks to all for their interest ...Sincerely, Jim |
