How is the sound on Electromuse?

I was thinking of getting an Electromuse to try some other tunings with. How do these sound, say compared to a Regal? A comparison might be subjective, so let's hear from some owners. Also, what is the scale length?

I had one that I promptly got rid of and was happy to take a loss on it. It was awful; the fretmarkers were out of position, the tone was thin and the pickup was really noisy. I could have fixed all that- but why?
