Hans J. Jahr at Halua Guitars in Norway sent me this info and I'm posting it here as an FYI .....
It has taken a while, but finally: I have started taking orders of the Halua Style 1.5!
At the moment I'm offering a fully acoustic version of
the Style 1.5 (without Sunrise pickup).
The guitar will come with a cusom made carbon fiber/fiber glass flight case. And will cost US$ 2950 + shipping
More information will be published on the web site at a later date. In the meantime, send me a mail if you have any questions.
Cheers
Hans J.

No I haven't had a chance yet. He offered me to try his latest before he shipped it over to Ben Harper, but there wasn't enough time since I don't live near Oslo.
Very interesting concept, and the demos on his website are pretty good. He wrote me earlier that the best result is probably when using a blend of the acoustic sound and the Sunrise, and judging from the demos I tend to agree with that. It has a pretty unique sound.

I was very interested in this steel, but the price of admission cooled my heels a bit

Gosh... the sound files at http://www.halua.no are incredible. Don't be turned off by carbon fiber. It is an amazing material with many applications. Very labor intensive to work with.
