I got this 1973 amp in and it sounded good and looked awful! Someone had cut the original 1-12 baffle out and installed a 2-10 baffle. The reverb tank had a broken spring, faceplate very scratched up and it had the wrong power tubes in it (6L6GC). Here is what I have done:
-New Blackface era cabinet (finger-jointed pine, removable style baffle with aged cloth.
Manufactured by Mojotone
-New Accutronics reverb tank
-Filter caps and all bypass electrolytic caps replaced
-New cabinet hardware (chassis straps, feet, handle and corners
-aged tubechart
-New Blackface control panel from Fender (65 reissue)
-New control knobs
-New Fender amp cover
-New Fender tail logo
-New Fender replacement speaker (same as used in current Hot Rod Deluxe and other amps)
-Correct "F" logo speaker jack and cloth wire
-New matched JJ/Telsa 6V6GT power tubes. All other tubes like new
-3-wire (grounded) power cord
-Added reverb mod to channel one
-Adjusted bias, cleaned jacks, cleaned pots, tested great and played for several months at home
Amp is about as close to mint as you will get and sounds awesome.
I need $875.00 and shipping for the amp. I can do PayPal.
