This is a working sound card with a front panel for easy mike and guitar connections that use a standard 1/4" phone plug. I have the original installation CD but it is best to download the latest drivers and software from Creative's website. The card will operate with Win98SE up to WinXPSP2. I recorded my steel with this card by using a patch cord from the XLR output from a NV1000 directly in the front panel.
