It appears we may have the house sold, a counter-offer went out tonight! I will have a lot of amps for sale! I am planning on a move to Georgia. The following items are for sale:
1964 Super Reverb, restored $1300.00
1967 Super Reverb, restored $1200.00
1971 Super Reverb, restored and Blackfaced $1100.00
Session 400 with original Black Widow, new caps and several transistors, nice amp $350.00
1994 Custom Shop Fender Dual Professional, near mint, speakers are Electrovoice Force 12's, $1400.00
Fender Twin Reverb 1971, totally restored cosmetics and Blackfaced looks like new! $750.00
Bassman 100, 1972, excellent. $350.00 (100 watts, like a Twin, less tremolo and reverb), the perfect piggyack to use with a digital reverb.
Peavey Mace, late 70's, all new tubes and excellent, with cover and Spider Blackwidows, footswitch and Twin Reverb cover $450.00
I will keep the Mace or the Session for steel, whichever sells first will determine that.
All Fender amps include correct covers. The Session 400 has a Twin Reverb cover, exact fit.
Too much work done to detail in this ad for the amps. Email for pictures and details.
I will be out of town from July 27 to August 10. The ad will be closed by then, as I will be coming back and moving.
I can do PayPal or money order, lower 48 sales only, buyer pays freight.
All tubes amps will be shipped with tubes removed, boxed and locations noted. Amps will be well packed and insured. All prices are firm.

Right you are. The early 70's are are easy to convert to a Blackface circuit.
I have a prior commitment to sell this one to Ron Whitworth. We started our emails last night.
I will post for sure if it is sold.
Thanks for the interest!! |

Info on the Bassman:
Just got this in a couple of days ago for work I am doing on three guitars for a friend. I have done the following:
-new filter caps and bias filters
-replaced 1 defective 470 ohm resistor at power tube
-replaced both 100 ohm resistors at the heater power supply (balance the supply to ground for no hum)
-Blackfaced the inverter section and bias control, now has bias adjust and is set for 33ma current flow.
-4 new and matched JJ power tubes
Basically it is a 4-6L6GC amp, two channels. There is a bass channel and a normal (guitar channel). I would just use a digital stomp box (the RV-5 is my favorite) and you would have a killer amp.
One of the power tube sockets had arced across and caused the damage above. I have a new socket ordered, I cleaned the old one and do not trust it at all! I get the exact Fender replacement type from Mojotone.
The amp sounds great, I am running it with a 4 ohm Black Widow cab at this time for testing, It is a 4 ohm amp. With the huge output transformer these are great amps for steel or guitar.
I have the tube socket on order, it will be a week before I finish it.
I will also replace the preamp tubes, all are original and good. I will send them for spares. I use JJ preamp tubes and they sound great! The amp had 3 of the original Fender RCA 6L6GC and 1 replacement Sovtek 6L6GC tube. The Fender tubes were so weak I threw them out! The Sovtek was OK. I will save it as a spare for a small Champ amp or something like that.

I love air-conditioning! Well, $4600.00 a year here for property taxes. The place I am looking to get is a double-wide on an acre, $31.00 a year tax on the acre and about $300.00 for the mobile! That's living!!!
This old boy is about to retire! |

Played down there, back in the 80's, at a place called "Chief Big's Country Palace," backing up Ferlin Huskey. |

Bump for Ken!! Ken is one of the sharpest people when it comes to amp repairs...these amps will be better than new when Ken is done and not a nicer person to deal with!
3 years ago we moved from the beauty and cool climate of Seattle/Tacoma to hot and muggy Dallas/Ft. Worth -- however, the people and the music here is so great and yes, cheaper to live than WA...best of luck in your move Ken. |

Hope to see a lot of you guys at the Dallas show next year. Thanks for all!
Bob, we can close this one now. Too close to moving time to pack any amps. I am heading to Georgia next week for a two week real-estate hunt. I will also be visiting my Mom and brother in NC and my son, daughter-in-law and new grandson in Virginia. The little duffer was under 2 lbs and born at 6 months. He is up to 17 lbs now and very healthy!![This message was edited by Ken Fox on 22 July 2004 at 05:02 PM.] |
