I was just watching a re-run of Saturday Night Live (from, according to DirectTV's info, 2005). Neil Young was the featured musical performer and he had steel player with him. The fellow playing was a white haired gent who also played Dobro on a later song performed. I couldn't tell what brand of guitar he was playing, but, unless I was seeing things, it looked as if there was no fret board on the guitar! What's up with that? Or, was I just not seeing correctly? They had a couple of decent camera shots of the steel guitar and I couldn't see any fret markings. Also, any body know who the steeler might have been?

Ben Keith usually plays an Emmons S-10 and a Rickenbacker lap steel, I think.
