Not only steel guitar in the US Navy Country Band.
B0b will love this one.
Go to the US Navy Country Band site and in performance photos a guy is playing “Marimbas”.
We just thought that a pedal steel and amp was tuff to haul around.
The address is http://www.navyband.navy.mil/countrycurrent.shtml

Here's that pic:

Tell me about it! I can't downsize my car, because I've been hauling a pedal steel, amp and a marimba! I took up the instrument for my own amusement, but bandleader John Reese insists that he has to have it in the band. The only gig I played without it this year was a church service where we only had to play 8 songs.

Now I'm looking at the Honda Odessey, because it would hold a bigger marimba.

b0b,
Don't let John Reese see this one. If he saw it I would have to turn you onto this place over on I-10 in Channelview, TX that sells used Mack trucks and trailers.

Get yourself an ex-Army surplus Tank Transporter. You can take the whole studio around then.

b0b, try a covered tandem trailer but be sure and have the sign on the side say
"Lee's Sewer Service"; a sure cure for folks who steal band trailers.
