I was in his shop this morning play'n a few guitars, and pick'n up a Hilton pedal. Bobbe looked good, sounded great, and was a gentleman as always. He did mention a session in the afternoon so I would dare say he is still in demand as usual..... he may have left the session and went to Legends Corner for a gig.... Please, treat Bobbe to spaghetti and meatballs, with a few sweet sausages thrown in. A side dish of Vienna bread with olive oil dip should get him perking. |

He's around. The Forum is poorer for his absence, but it's not difficult to understand his current reluctance to post.
Forumites have to ask the question why many of the 'name' players no longer participate on a regular basis. Could it be that some of us think we know more than the pro's? |

If you really want to know why, maybe the following quote from one of Joey Ace's previous posts might be the answer:

I asked the late great Jeff Newman several times to join this forum. He reply was always,

"No, because all they do there is argue, no matter what the subject is. Argue, argue, argue, I don't need that."
Jus' mebbe' Bobbe feels the same way.

Fred
Your post just about sums this up neatly. The cross flow of information on this Forum is priceless at times, and I particularly love reading the historical recollections from those players who played a major part in the development of the steel guitar. However, I am sure that some of the bickering and squabbling that goes on occasionally is a big turn-off, and is a major contributory factor why a lot of the famous players hardly ever participate. |

If those are Uncle Bobbe's employees, I'm going to move to Nashville and go to work for him too ----if I don't have to pay him too much! He shouldn't have to do all that training by himself, especially at his age. He surely must have to take a lot of those little blue pills (Aleve) after a hard day at work. I always knew we had a lot in common, Bobbe!
