Was never a ham but I was a radio intercept
operator in the Air Force. At that time I
could copy and send about 30-35 wpm. Later I
got a FCC first class License and worked as
chief engineer at a am radio station here in Oregon. Later as an engineer and switcher for
a TV station here in Eugene. I still have my "bug". |

I try to check-in on the WV nets on the 40 and 75 meter bands but don't get to dx much anymore. Callsign W8ROK. Looks like quite a few hams in the woodwork. Nice thread.

Been licensed as a General almost 30 years as WD5CBO but currently not active although I do have a 2 meter rig here on the desk. I loved CW and was good to about 23 WPM.
Anytime I'm watching old war movies my ears perk up and I try to copy if I hear someone sending CW.
It's kinda funny that when I got started I had almost no place to put up a good antenna and now I have 7 acres and nothing up.

KE7MK- Advanced..
I've been a licensed ham since I was 14. I am now 53. I've had 5 call signs since. Currently I'm on 40 and 75 meter SSB, 20 meter CW (I'm still somewhat of a nut for CW - (about 25 wpm solid). I'm also on the local 2 meter and 440 repeaters. Back in the late 90's I was active on 1296 MHz moon bounce.(EME). I Hope to try my hand at it again someday soon. My 16 foot dish is still sitting in Cody. As soon as I can transport it over the mountain, I'll be bouncing again..
