Okay, since most people probably wouldn't want to watch a Motley Crue video, I'd suggest starting this, hitting pause and letting it load, and then going to the only real shots of this (interesting) doubleneck steel guitar to speak of which are at 3:17, and a close up at 3:39...
It appears to be two snakeskin covered square-neck 6-string lap steels (Explorer-style body?), mounted one over the other on some sort of rigging... Yeah, you have to see it to believe it. Heh heh - anyone else have more info? Comments?

I dug the drumstick twirling, the part where Neil whatshisname knocks over the colossal egyptian columns, and the underage nymph with the chalice. Spinal Tap woulda been proud.

Boy that looks like a segment of Granny Ole' Osprey.
I see Tommy has a set of those faulty drum sticks that keep spinning when you least need them to.
I guess Motley will be the next guest on the G.O.O., they are quite colorful group (Look it up)

About a decade ago, I had just walked in to Norman's Rare Guitars, when it was still on Vanowen. There was a '53 long-scale quad-8 Stringmaster leaning up against the counter. When I asked about it, they said that the lead guitar from Motley Crue had just brought it in, and left 15 minutes earlier. He had the bottom neck strung up with 6 strings and someone, he knew, told him that it looked dumb to have all those necks and only 6 strings on one of them. So he brought it over to Norm's.
They wanted $450 and I thought it was reasonable.

So did you buy it? Dang - why didn't he (Mick Mars) just put strings on the other necks - that would've looked cool... A heck of a lot cooler than that contraption on the video (which I believe dates back to around '89)
