There is a "Free"Rod Stewart Special on Direct TV channel 101 this month and Cindy Cashdollar is spotlighted many times. This is great exposure for the Steel guitar,Dobro and Lap steel. She gets more play time than most major Country acts of today allow their steels if they carry one. It also shows the versatility of a great player and the instrument. Plus the credits at the end are given to each and every band member. Way to go Rod Stewart. |

Cindy is no longer with Rod. Robin Ruddy has replaced her. I just talked to Robin yesterday.

Michael, next time you talk with Robin, tell her Jack said hi. I bought her push pull Emmons rosewood D-10 a few years back, and I love that guitar. tell her the guitar is being well cared for and played a lot |

Van's new album is really classic country done right.
great steel work from some cat named Godden on all cuts.
Fine fine player, gorgeous sound.
So I bet it will be a fine show to see.
Of course I can't get it here.[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 22 November 2006 at 02:47 AM.] |

Van Morrison sometimes uses Cindy Cashdollar and sometimes Sarah Jory...Rod has relaced Cindy Cashdollar with Robin Ruddy. Is there a glass ceiling in the steel hierachy, so only the dames get the top gigs?

Matt; Not sure about the glass ceiling thing, but will say that Robin plays great steel and has been doing it a long time also. She was on a show of mine back in the early 90's and I was pretty impressed. |
