I am now the proud owner of a new ZumSteel D10 8X8. It plays so easy and looks so beautiful.

| Lyle, congratulations on your new Horn. Zums are nice steels, I can't wait to see it. BTW, I love blue steels. I am thinking about getting a blue GFI sometime soon. |

and bruce is not too bad a fella either. however i don't like zum steels. they are just so so so great i love a zum steel. one thing to remember if it don't say zum on it it isn't a real steel. now if i could only make mine sound like bruce did i'd be happy as could be. doc

well there are somethings in life that you like, there are somethings in life you love, and there is somethings in life you just can't live with out. the later is my zum steel. don't get any better than that. i thought that was clear. if it isn't a zum steel it isn't real. doc

Congratulations on your Zum....I know you will love it, be it Emmons or Day setup!! I have had mine for almost 10 years, and it is still like new....great to talk to you this week, too. Take care.

Thanks for all the kind words. No pictures yet but will have in the future.
That Emmons set up is driving me wild, new tricks for old dogs or something like that.

Well, The ZumSteel looks really nice. Myself, I have a 1971 Emmons D-10. Back then I asked what was the best pedal steel to buy and the store owner said 'Emmons' was the best. So I am happy with what I bought and I like the sound, but now I am wondering in this day and age....if money was no object,...what would be the best pedal steel to buy these days? I mean there seem to be quite a few new brands I never heard of before as I have been out of the loop for 25 years now. (shift worker)
Now I suspect everyone would have their own opinion, but I am just looking for a quick answer as I am sure most people talk about a certain brand they wished they owned over all others. Thanks for any replies.

if you want a hamburger you have to wait untill its cooked. if you want the best steel then you have to wait for it to be made. i go by looks as well as preformance. and all the three lettered steels like bmi gfi etc just look so cheap and not near as good looking as my zum. gfi etc maybe a good psg but i feel zum is the way to go. sarry it just dont get any better than a zum steel.
