I have been using a BJS bar (the same one) since 1991 when I bought it new. It has been dropped, thrown, you name it and it still looks and feels great. BUT tonite at Renfro Valley I got my new "John Hughey Signature" bar, 7/8" with my birthstone and absolutley LOVE it!!!! I can't quite figure out why this bar feels so good and comfortable but, Mr. Stroud and the gang have improved on an already great product!!! Maybe its just in my head but if you all haven't tried one of these bars, you owe it to yourself to check one out. My old one has lasted through 15 years of playing and I am sure that it along with this new one will be around long after I am gone!!!

Hats off to the folks at BJS bars!!!

Thanks!!!!!

Greg

Put Johns' ride in the old bar from " Just Destroyed The World I'm Living In" and send it home to me, maybe then I can learn to play that ride.

Thanks Greg for using the BJS Bars, are you the one that Lee sent the JH Bar to?
A lot of people are really liking the new bar.
Hey, Walter I bet that ride is in the bar you will just have to dig it out, but don't slide pass the fret. ha ha

Greg
I Got my BJS(Hughey Bar) for my birthday In St. Louis This year, and i love it... I still have my old one that i have had since... Well.. Forever..
I want to get down to see you, i hear your melting those bars as fast as you get them.
And just when you think Mr. Stroud and the gang couldn't do any better, they bring out the Hughey Bar! What a great idea!
Mike

Greg, you are a soalfull player, you could do all those great licks with a piece of re-bar. I have a BJS,, thought that would be the last bar I ever had to buy,, now this Hughey thingy got me thinking.

Hey, been 'chewin' on those BJS bars for a long time. Just got my new JH and love it. Dropped it on the concrete the first day I had it and you guessed it, NO SCRATCHES, DENTS, AND THE CHROME IS STILL ON IT!!! Nothing like giving it a "break test" early. Think I'll keep this one too.

Hi Fred,
I've heard a lot of players tell me the same thing, why do it always fall on concrete? Yes that is a test. Glad you like your new bar.
Don't slide pass the frets, they are smooth. As Jimmy Day use to say, smooth as silk on silk.
Thanks for using the BJS Bars,
Bill

I got my BJS bar a couple of years ago and it's the only bar I use now. As a matter of fact I have 2 of them. Had to get one with my birthstone in it. It's the smoothest bar I have ever used.
I met Bill at the NTSGA Jam earlier this month.
You will be able to see and try all of Bill's bars at my Tri State Steel Show, Washington, PA, coming up in April, because Bill will be there playing for us, and will also have a display table.
Keep up the good work Bill.

Don't you guys have any rugs or carpeting in your houses?
Why does everybody drop their bar on concrete right off the bat?
Is this some secret thing I'm missing out on?

Was changing strings a couple weeks ago and in the heat of the moment just started grabbing around in my gig bag for a bar...accidentally grabbed my first [stainless, no names please] bar instead of my BJS. I think I made it through 5 seconds of re-tuning and piddling before I recoiled in shock.

This would make a great BJS bar commercial. A steel player comes out of his house carrying his BJS bar. Suddenly, the bar squirts out of his hands and lands on the concrete driveway. The steel player gasps, leans down, picks up the BJS bar, takes a handkerchief out of his pocket and wipes it off and smiles confidently. The next scene shows the steel player playing away at his steel at the local venue. A man comes on and says "BJS Bars. You can drop 'em on a concrete driveway and they keep on slid'n!".
