Tommy Duncan, recorded this "Hound Dog " in 1953 I think it was recorded at Bakersfield.
Anyone know who is playing Lap Steel,
or anything about it ???
Tommy had split with Bob Wills,by then and was out on His own,

Herb, I have searched all I know how, and can not confirm where Tommy recorded Hound Dog. The talk back in 1950's among musicians I worked with, was ,Tommy, and, Drummer Johnny Couvellio,(spelling ?)were still working together, and 2 songs were recorded at Bakersfield, Hound Dog, and,Grits And Gravy Blues, to be released as a 45 single.A problem with Wills, stopped this release, This is Hearsay, so no disrespect to Wills intended,( Just Talk,) I worked several gigs with, Drummer Johnny Couvellio, as He settled down in San Jose, we worked the Joints, Skull Orchards there, Johnny never talked much about the songs, just seemed to be common knowledge, Johnny was the best Drummers I ever worked with,
Could these two songs have been pitched to a major label, and not releases ? I can not find ,Grits And Gravy Blues.
Herbie
