There is an advert running on UK TV using a version of 'Walking after Midnight' with some good steel.

I have only caught snatches of it and can't tell if it is Patsy Cline or a cover version - does anyone know?

I cant remember what it is advertising - drink I think.

I think it's the Kronenberg ad where the guy wanders round trying to find a seat to enjoy his pint in peace. The track sounds great, it's got that lovely directness you get from earlier country tracks.

I'm not knocking modern Nashville musicians at all as there are clearly some amazing players working at the moment but I love the smaller band sound of things like Hank Williams (for example). Everything has space and everyone works together to get the sound. The individual sounds aren't big or lush but the way they work together is so solid. I don't always want fiddle, steel, electric guitar and piano on the same track with everyone getting an 8 bar solo.

I've got a Charlie Pride compilation which is really good, the tracks are well produced and can compete with contemporary pop easily but then, when I put on the Live at Panther Hall LP..... that's what I like.

Sorry to rant on and hijack the thread completely, someone tell me to shut up!
