I saw note mentioning amps. I just bought a new light weight Evans and I'm very impressed with it. I've always been particular about tone and used the best - custom made amps for steel. The band I work with were at one time, full time rock and rollers. So, it was a challenge to push the volume and keep the sweet tone. This amp did it for me. Even the band made comments on it's sound. The weight factor really impressed them. They were lugging 80/90 power amps and speakers. I got the 15" spkr, so I not limited as to what low notes or chords I can hit. I'm having a good time with it.

Sorry for the miss-sentence typing. I just got in from the heat and was typing too fast for my brain - Just 'got' a new toy.

Hey Ted...saw your post. Glad you like the Evans. I have (2) one is a lighter model couple years old, you got the new one with the super lite speaker I presume. I am crazy but lugging around the Fender Steel King 66 lbs.... but love the tone.

Ted, what is the model, weight, speaker type, and power output of the Evans?

Steve, it's the SE200. 200 Watt, 15" lite weight spkr. The amp weighs 35lbs. It really does the trick. I have 2 herniated discs in my lower back. This is the answer to my prayers. It gives me everything that I got from the my other great steel amps (Evans Fet 500 and Webb)without the weight. I figure, lugging those heavy amps will take a toll on the body eventually (I have friends that went thru serious surgergy), so, I'd rather live without the pain and still get that 15" spkr sound. You only live once.

I did want to mention that the reverb has that old spring reverb sound.
