I met Roger Friday night at Diamond F Arena near Seguin, Texas. He was playing with Billy Mata and man, what a sound.
He really had his Zum sounding great. It was a real pleasure to meet him and talk with him. A real nice guy. If you get a chance to hear him with Billy, he does a great job of Making Billy sound good. Actually, Billy does OK anyway.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Billy and the rest of the band make it fun and easy to play and stretch out as far as you want.

Roger's playing is just another excuse for me to program that wonderful band Billy Mata & Texas Tradition on my "Swingin' West" shows. Roger is a super picker and song writer.

Russ, I have picked up about 100lbs and a few grey hairs since that picture was taken at Frontier Ranch in Ohio. It was about the time Connie Smith was discovered there.

I'll have to second that motion about Roger being a great player! They do some great live music. If your a hardcore traditional country fan, you'll love it. They have some great albums too. Hey Roger, tell everyone where they can get a copy!

A superb player and a great person. Coincidentally, also my first steel teacher back in the days when we both lived in Ohio. Kinda hard to go wrong with such an example of touch and tone.

Although somehow I've managed to find a way
