I beleive the name of this song is "Highway to Heaven". The first recording had beautiful steel guitar. I also beleive Eric released this same tune later without the steel. If someone has this recording with the steel, please share this with us so we can learn the song the right way. Also, who was the steel player on this first recording?

I believe the title is "Tears in Heaven" and it's JD on steel.

Jaydee played this at the Spokane show, and told us a little bit about the session. I am not sure but he may even have the solo tabbed an explained as part of his "Inside with Jaydee" dvd series? It was awesome to meet Jaydee and hear him play...what a nice guy. i may have a recording of Jaydee's performance of this song at the Spokane show somewhere, but I am sure you can find the song more easily on the net.

Heres some guitar tabs (scroll down) http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/eric_clapton_tabs5.htm

I played "Tears In Heaven" as an instrumental when I played a show in Saluda, SC last November. Jay Dee does some great steel work on "Tears In Heaven". First time I heard the song, I asked myself, "Is that a steel guitar playing the solo"? Then, I found out a few years later after I started playing steel that it was Jay Dee on steel.
