Some of you may have read a recent post of mine where I mention my keen anticipation of the impending arrival of the three Bear Family Everly Brothers box-sets.
I haven't had time to play any of them yet, but I have skimmed through the excellent hard-cover books, and I've found two super pictures of Buddy! They're taken at the 'Sixth Annual Country Music Disc Jockey Festival' in Nashville (the venue would seem to be a hotel conference room of some sort), and Don and Phil are playing those black Gibson J-200s.
Buddy's guitar, a vintage D-8 (I won't stick my neck out and try to identify it!) has 'Buddie Emmons' on the front apron, and Our Hero looks to be about 12 years old!!! (Well, pretty young, anyway...)
I wish I knew how to scan and post this here - maybe someone has a suggestion?
They're great photos!

The guitar is Buddy's first Sho Bud which ended up to Pete Drake, Pete converted it to D10. I think it's currently in CMHOF. |

It's very similar, Bill, but the guitar that 'Buddie' is playing in the photos does not have the dark-coloured necks. they're blonde, like the apron.
That could have been changed, of course...

Seems I read that Buddy Emmons had the name "Buddie" used so there would be 6 letters in each name
This PSG as a D10 is seen on a couple of the Starday recordings of Pete Drake.

This picture is on a Starday album..Steel Guitar and Dobro Spectacular..
David,
I also read somewhere that Pete used a plate with his name to cover Buddie's name that was inlaid.

I think the guitar Roger has in mind is in the Country Music Hall of Fame?
