How Common are D-6 Consoles?

I see a lot of D-8's around but not too many D-6's. I'm starting to think a D-6 might be more useful to me then a D-8. Any thoughts?

There's a quite a few fine Supro D-6's around, they tend to pop up on eBay quite often. Wouldn't mind having one of those myself one day....

There seems to be less D6s than D8s. You can always remove two strings from your D8, unless you really want the wider spacing.

The Supro D6, or "Twin" is a pretty decent guitar. It has those cool string through pickups. Like Steinar says, they pop up fairly often.
They came in brown or pearl MOTS, and cost anywhere from $250 - $500. I put Aiello remags in mine and it sounds great.

And here's a pearl model . .

Fender made a few D6 Stringmaster type guitars, and there was a D6 Gretsch Electromatic on eBay recently but that's the only one I've seen.
