It was a great honor to meet and visit with Dr. Steve Robinson, Astronaut and steel guitarist. [Yes, he has a PhD degree.] He is a very personable and down-to-earth guy (if that is a suitable term for a space hero). His "space walk" where he repaired the tile on a recent Space Shuttle flight was, in my opinion, one of the world's greatest acts of heroism.

If you want a real treat, go to the NASA web site (www.nasa.gov) and type "Steve Robinson" into the search block at the upper right corner of the page.

Roy, I'm glad you posted this thread.

Steve is one of the best, a genuine good guy as well as being a for real American hero. Of course, in his characteristic modesty he would probably disagree, but I'm willing to allow him that one misconception.

He has my total respect and admiration for his accomplishments.

I got to meet Steve last year at the Convention. When he saw me saturday night during the Sarah Jory set, he still remembered my name. Now thats inpressive! Steve's a true hero to this Country and someone I'm proud to call my friend. Nick

I met Steve at the convention this year and couldn't agree more with the aforementioned words of praise. A true hero and a super guy. It was an absolute honor to meet him. He sure has my respect.

Sincerely,
Chris "Tiny" Olson

I also met Steve and was impressed at how modest and down to Earth (bad pun I know) he was. At the convention, he was just another regular guy.

Nick Reed, I regert that you and I didn't get a chance to meet. Maybe next time.

I had the opportunity to meet Steve a couple of years ago in St. Louis and our paths have also crossed at the Dallas steel show. He's one of the nicest human beings one could ever hope to meet.
