They had 4 bands total and three steels. When Norm played his steel it came thru much nicer, Clean and crisp. He acted like he had done that before. LOL This was just this weekend in Grove City Oh, At Legends fest.
AWESOME!!!

Sorry I missed it. I was planning on coming up but as it turned out couldn't make it.

Was it sold out or would tickets have been available if I'd made the trek?

They = Country Legends Fest 2006

The four bands = Merle Haggard, Pam Tillis, McGuffey Lane, and Rainbow Canyon.

Merle & band put on a great show. 'Nuff said.

Ron, you probably won't be too happy to hear this, but general admission tickets were still available the day before the show. Reserved seating might've been (and probably was) an entirely different matter, though...

The following Saturday Merle was scheduled to appear at the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, just south of here. He was on a show with Alan Jackson, Big & Rich, Deana Carter and Shannon Brown. The show was cancelled on Thursday prior, with some obtuse reason being given--"...routing and production issues". I guess low ticket sales might be a routing issue-- if they don't sell we don't show.

I think the promoters should realize that the typical Hag and AJ fans don't want to see B&R, and vice versa. The chairback seats went for $75-85 and I'd have bought in if the other 3 acts had been worth the price, or even if they just replaced B&R with say Chesnutt or someone country.
