Hello all, Shannon here. I've been lurking around this forum for quite some time now. All I can say is wow! The information that I have obtained here has been very useful. I have been a huge fan of pedal steel for as long as I can remember and within the past year I've taken it up pretty regularly. I bought a LDG bud and I can't pull myself away. I am currently in an americana group based out of Memphis TN and do quite a bit of traveling. Hope to meet some of you in my travels.

LDG bud eh? I don't mind saying I'm pretty jealous. They don't wash up on these shores too often. Have fun on the forum!

Welcome, Shannon!
How come you fell for the steel guitar? Are there other steel players in your family?

Anders, yep my family is a very musical one. My father has been playing steel for about 35 yrs. He was with a southern gospel quartet for about 15 yrs. I have always played guitar, but was rather intimidated by the pedal steel. Once I sat down with it seriously and many of headaches later it started getting a little easier.
