Hi everyone, I have a Shobud Maverick (setup for lap),a Melobar 6, a Dickerson, and a Sierra 8 lap steel. I think that I like the sound of the Dickerson the best. I keep trying to make the Sierra sound more like the Dickerson. What kind of pickup options are there for the Sierra? I guess I like the single coil sound. I really like the old Bigsby sound and the Fender too. Thanks

Welcome, David. I've got a Truetone on mine, I like it better than the George L. For a few bucks extra, Jerry Wallace can prep one to be mounted in a Sierra. --Steve

I had one and it was great sounding with a Truetone. Rick Aiello has the MRI pickups which are great as well. Not much like what you are going after, I think; Rick may venture an opinion.

Seriously, David ... I believe I gave you my opinions via email the other day ... at least I think it was you.

The email address of the "reply to" isn't the same as the one in your profile ...

PS: My butchered pickquard is a result of using my Sierra for every prototype pickup we ever came up with ...

An MRI requires no mods.

Thanks everyone for your input. I appreciate your taking the time to answer. I got a Roland cube 30 in addition to my Microcube and it sounds great. The Micro just wasn't enough for jam sessions especially with a volume pedal. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
