In the song "These arms of mine " the steel playing is absolutely beautiful. Does anyone have any information on Milo Deering who is the steel player with LeAnn Rimes. I've never seen his name on the forum.Where does he hail from?

Milo is one of the truely unheralded players in this country. He can play absolutely any instrument with incredible ability. I believe you can also hear him play on the motel 6 commercials so they can leave a light on for you....

Milo lives in Dallas and played most of the instruments on "These Arms of Mine." He's an exceptional talent. I saw him playing with Ghosttown at the Carrollton Theater in 1995 to a crowd of 20 and it changed my life. He is the reason I play pedal steel.

About five years ago I was playing with a band that Milo had done some studio work with and the band asked me to learn his parts.

After they played a few songs for me I just looked at them with a blank stare and said you've got to be kidding.

What a monster player and what a great tone he got from his Carter.

James,
A acouple of years ago when the Chattanooga show was still going I spoke with Jr Knight about this song. I was with a band at the time that was doing "These arms of mine". Jr had played with LeeAnn for some time. I asked him about Milo Derring. He said the guy is one of the best muscians ever. He plays a number of instruments and is fantastic on all of them

Glad people are talking about Milo who is one of my all around favorite musicians! If it has strings, he'll play it. A few months ago, I got a call from a Dallas studio for a session. When I thanked them for the call, the one fellow said, "Well, Milo was busy so..." Listen to LeAnn Rimes "Blue" steel turnaround -- that I believe is Milo...great player!

You are right Bill. A while back Lloyd Green gave me a cassette of Milo. I listened to it,& asked Lloyd what Milo was playing. He said,"Everything!" Whatta talent. I'd like to meet him someday.

Milo may be the best all around musician in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. He plays everything well. I caught him about a year ago playing numerous instruments with a great female singer here in Dallas. He also does a LOT of session work around town.
