I don't know how many of you know this guy.I can tell you he is a master on the "swing" neck. I call it that because he uses a A6th instead of the C6th tuning. He's been coming to my house everyday this week not too only visit but to pick a little with me.He has opened up a whole new world for me,showing me things on the C6th neck I have tried to find for years, Pedal combos, string combos ,grips, you name it,this guy knows where the sound is located.I was getting so bored with the same routine every day I was loosing intrest in playing.NOT NOW !! I am so pumped I can't sit still. If you never heard Ivan play, youv'e missed a great sound.Ray

I used to hear about Ivan from my ol' fiddle playin' buddy,Gene "Pappy" Merritts. Never met him 'til I worked "Mr. Lucky's" in Phoenix. He was in the house band. Heard him play,& I figured,"What the hell am I doin' playin' this thing??" He's a KILLER!!

One of the truly under-appreciated players. He's an unbelieveable player with a unique style. I used to listen to him soon after I started playing and half the time he inspired me and the rest of the time I figured, like Smiley, "Why bother?"

Soon after he left Mr. Lucky's, Danny Sneed started there and gave me yet another opportunity to feel like I might as well give it up before I ever really started!

It's good to see Ivan's name mentioned on the forum.
I used to listen to him as often as possible when I lived in Phoenix.
This man can dig in to 6th neck and swing.

I remember watching him at the Los Vaqueros in Apache Junction playing with Marty Ramirez, and he played some very melodic licks that I never heard before. I think that was the first time I had ever seen him play. He just blew me away.
