Yes, Jim, the guitar is an Emmons D-10 1970 'Fatback'
(I'm playing the Fender in the other clip)
Fred, the tuning I've always used is my own sort of E6/9 maj7
Hi to lo = F# - D# - E - C# - B - G# - E - B - G#
Changes similar to A,B and C with the E-Eb and E to F etc.
Because of my unusual way of sitting and other reasons, I've got the pedals arranged very differently, over to the right where 7,8,9 would be..

Very nice! is that a Fender 2000? (D-10?). How hard was it to put the knee levers on that guitar?

Cliff, they didn't keep the cable system those are rods going to the first levers and knife edges.

| That is a trip! How interesting that they would go with rods, but lay them out in a very similar placement and pattern as the cable guitar. Ya gotta love Fender! Very very cool guitar. |

I know the guitar discussion REALLY should be in 'Pedal Steel', so I may just start a new thread there and leave this thread to discuss why I thought it was safe to get back in the water again.. and try singing with my "New Teeth"

History
The air was collected by Jane Ross of Limavady, County Londonderry, and was first published in book form by the Society for the Preservation and Publication of the Melodies of Ireland in 1855 in The Ancient Music of Ireland produced by George Petrie, in which it was listed as an "anonymous air".
Danny Boy
The most popular lyrics for the tune are "Danny Boy" ("Oh Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling") written by the English lawyer, Frederick Edward Weatherly, in 1910 and set to the tune in 1913. The words are a love song of a woman to a man, though they are often mistakenly taken to be a call to arms, or a rebel song.
