Hey Frank, in another thread ("guitar investment" in the Music section) we were talking about guitars, and I brought up the subject of Korean Imports. I mentioned such brands as Agile, Ravenwest, and Aslin Dane.

I have hands on experinece with Ravenwest and Aslin Dane, but have never played an Agile, and only know them by reputation. Since you have an Agile Les Paul, could you please tell us about it?

Because of the threat of lawsuits, Agile had to change the appearance of their Les Paul copies. The horn is a little different as well as the headstock. So, I have not tried the newer ones, but the white sparkle-top I have is one to keep. I tried out some Epiphone LPs the other day and I still prefer the neck on mine, as well as the tone.

I have added a boen handle tremolo bridge to my guitar as well as a Kramer quadrail pickup at the bridge that is coil-tapped. It gets switched into single-coil mode via a push-pull tone knob.

I also tried a real Gibson vintage mahogany Les Paul Studio, like the one Musician's Friend sells for $899 and I did not like the wider neck on it and the tone did not knock me out.

I do not know about the other Agiles, but the folks at Rondo (www.rondomusic.net) seem to be good to deal with and sell on Ebay.

In reality, I am more of a Strat man and I just purchased a G&L Legacy Tribute with natural finish - Swamp ash wood. USA electronics. It is one of the best sounding strats I have ever played. It has a humbucker at the bridge with toggle switch to put it in single-coil mode.

The pictures of my Agile LP4000 are on my
Web Site. The are before-mod photos. http://frankestesmba.com/MyLP4000.html

You want a killer-diller guitar? Fender Japan has just re-introduced their high-end Strats. I bought a 54-110DM = a dead-on 54 copy with a huge neck and D'Marzio pickups. Beautiful lacquer finish, great swamp ash body and plays and sounds great, although I'm gonna change out the pups.

Lists at abut 900 bucks, ought to get one for 750 from Ishibashi online..

Hi Frank!!! :- )

Hi Tom-san! Sounds great except for the big neck! I paid $495 for my G&L.
