Hey Forum Friends-
I have not been posting much as my wife and I have been very busy. In January we decided to leave Seattle, my hometown, for Nashville. There were many reasons behind this decision, the top ones being my wife wants to be closer to her family in Greenville SC; We are both ready for new careers; and we did well selling our house in Seattle and buying in Nashville. We bought a much nicer home at half the price of our Seattle home.
We will arrive at our new home in the Inglewood neighborhood at the end of May.
Anyway to get to the point:
I really would like to take lessons as we will now be living in one of the richest areas for Pedal Steel music.
Who's teaching actively in Nashville right now? If anyone could provide contact info that would be appreciated. I am looking to expand my skills on both necks, but really feel that I am in a rut on E9, resorting to the same licks and passages...
Thanks!

Boy-this should be an "embarassment of riches" for good teachers!
My buddy and his wife left Sonoma County for Franklin, TN last September and they got a beauty of a house for about half the price of the one out here.

Well, if you're living in Inglewood, Frank Parish is in your neighborhood. Frank's pretty modest about his playing but he is a very competent player and has some GREAT guitars. He posts here often -- search for his name.
I believe Joe Wright is still in Nashville. You can't find a better teacher. Go to http://www.pedalsteel.com for info
His contact form is on http://www.pedalsteel.com/contact.html
Also, Mike Sweeney has been doing some teaching, from what I read. A WHOLE BUNCH OF GREAT PLAYERS are there. Many of them would be happy to make a few bucks on the side.

Dave - I didn't know you were doing 'tutoring' too. That's great! It would be a great benefit to receive a few lessons from you.
