Who played steel on this Jim Reeves tune? It sounds a bit like Pete Drake and a bit like Jimmy Day. Does anybody know?

It was Pete Drake, I asked this Q about 6-8 months ago, 'cause the steel technique sounded so familiar.

Great tune huh?

Pete must've also played some with Billy Walker 'cause that's whose steel backup this tune sounds like.

All the stuff Pete played on that record was on C6th. Pete did that lot in the early - mid 60s. It was all done with a G (8 string I think) on top and useing what we now call pedals 6 & 7 on standard C6th setups.

the pedal jumping sounds like Pete. Like pedal 7 on the C neck.
