to Miami. I've written Mr. Frisell's management company, notifying them of my extreme angst over the situation (Frisell comes close enough to see, but without
Leisz.)

Dear Management Company:

I have waited YEARS to hear Bill Frisell and Greg Leisz together in Florida. Well, I get half of my dream. Is there no way to bring Leisz, too? We have suffered so much down here, what with the 8,000 hurricanes and all. Couldn't you please, please get Leisz to join Frisell and make us bereft, long suffering hurricane victims happy? We ask for so little: a hunk of ice, some water, and GREG LEISZ with BILL FRISELL!!!!

Don't you guys CARE about HURRICANE VICTIMS?!

Sincerely,

Be careful what you ask for... When I saw them together here in Portland, it was 3 hours of densly layered, seemingly tempoless, loop-upon-loop "jams", both seated, expressionless except for the which-knob-should-I-turn-next perplex, no singing, guitar and lap steel (no PSG).
'Not sure if this is still their current shtick, though.

Protest? You can't protest an artist's lineup (well, I guess you can by not buying a ticket).

If you are a fan of great music, Bill is playing with a great trio, including Sam Yahel (who is an excellent organist) and Kenny Wolleson (drummer). You won't be disappointed (or maybe you will...) Bill has been doing his thing (which means he often changes his lineup and structure) for years and I've seen him many times. Greg is probably doing something else at the moment--they frequently move on and come full circle. This is why Bill is one of the best--never to rest on his laurels.

If you are so bad off and I don't doubt it, I think It would be in your best interest to put your communities interest first, What is more important here water and basic needs or Leisz and Frisell and honestly I never heard of them I guess they play country right? Well try your local radio station I guess maybe you can get a petition signed, thats how we got garth brooks to cincy.

Somehow I missed the part about the hurricanes. Sorry to hear you are one of the suffering Floridians.

You guys have given me something to think about. This is what I've concluded: 1) I am going to buy tickets to the Frisell without Leisz trio, but I'm going to do it in a really crabby way. 2) I love the petition idea! 3) I'm going to make protest signs and march around inside my neighbors' house (it's already too hot to march outside) 4)Oh, there is no four. Never mind.

About the lack of singing in Oregon: I don't really like singing. Too many words.

Thanks for your help!
