I saw your post on the forum, and realized I could clear up some of the issues concerning Chuck Carroll.
There were two Chuck Carrolls in the Detroit area in the 50's and 60's. The Chuck Carroll (the guitar player) worked with Casey Clark in early 50's. and worked in Casey's band at the same time Buddy Emmons did. He recorded Hey Now With Buddy playing steel about 1954. Chuck and I have been friends for at least 45 yrs. and I just talked with his only child, a daughter who lives in the Paducah Ky area. She has a copy of that recording. I worked with Casey from about 1956 - 1958 after Buddy left and recorded Hey Now with the other Chuck Carroll.(the fellow I think you are refering to ) I have a copy of that recording. The two records have often been confused. The Chuck Carroll (guitar Player)and I worked together in the 1960's but not in Casey's band. My friend Chuck Carroll was an only child. He did not a brother, and did not play steel. He also was one of the finest people I ever knew. He was very family oriented, had a great outlook on life and never drank. He passed away about 2 yrs ago in Paducah Ky, where he had moved to be with his daughter.

Are you the same Chuck Rich that played at the Boulevard in Cincinatti back in the late 70's? If you are four of us from Indy came down to see you one night. John Haddix, John Ellison , Kenny Ray and myself.
Dennis Harroll(?) was on bass and the piano player was Danny something. I still have a tape of that night and it still amazes me. You guys were GREAT. I think the girl singing was Darlene Davis.

Ben, Yes I was the culprit. There were some good players in that band, they sure carried me, Ha Ha ! Keyboard, Danny Burton, his wife Charlene, Vocals, Mark Schulte on guitar, Tim Short on drums, Dennis Harrill, Bass, and myself on Steel. Dennis Harrill passed away about a year and half ago. Thanks for remembering.

Sorry to hear about Dennis. The night I taped my recorder was right between you and Dennis. That is some of the best bass and steel I have ever heard. I've played the tape for a lot of people and everyone was impressed to say the least. You have a bunch of fans on the East coast.
