Wade branch came out last night and set up his BMI (ten string student model)and played with our regular Friday night band at the Stagecoach Ballroom in Ft. Wth. and did a fine job. I know a lot of bands wouldn't permit an unknown player to do that, but I think that is where a person starts expanding their play-ability. You can only do so much by yourself in the living room.
Not that I'm some big expert, but I can tell Wade has the right tools to become a monster player. Number one, he had determination. He is dedicated to learning. he has Good intonation too. I'm proud to call him "Friend", because he's very polite, and wants to do the right things. He also loves the Good Old stuff. If some of you fine "Real Country Music" steel players want to take a young player "Under Your Wing", I don't think you could find a better "proto-jay!" (sp?) (come on , ya noe I caint speel).
Wade, thanks for dropping by. |

Chuck, you should know better than to encourage Wade to play that contraption cuz it's only going to lead to a life of chimes.
I've played steel with Wade's Band on several occasions and I have to admit he is a "Choke" nice guy.
If he follows in my footsteps, he's in for years of numerous marriages, numerous steel guitars, extra cash and...ok so maybe I'm exaggerating on some things a little.
